About Score My Farkle

A free scorekeeper for a very old dice game, built because keeping score on the back of an envelope is the worst part of playing it.

What this is

Score My Farkle is a scorekeeper, not a game. You roll real dice at a real table; this handles the running totals, the combination scoring, the 500-to-open rule, the final round and the leaderboard. There is an app-rolls mode too, for practice or a solo game, but real dice are the point.

Alongside it there is a set of reference pages — the rules, the scoring chart, the odds and strategy and the house rules people actually play — written to be genuinely useful rather than to fill space. The strategy page in particular uses exact probabilities computed from the same scoring engine that runs the scorekeeper, not figures copied from elsewhere.

How it works

It is a static website. There is no account system, no database and no server holding your games. Your games, house rules and leaderboard are stored by your own browser, on your own device. That is a deliberate trade: it means nothing to sign up for and nothing to leak, but it also means your scores do not follow you between devices.

The page caches itself so it keeps working without an internet connection. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it runs full screen like an installed app.

Why it is free

The site is supported by advertising. Ads are placed around the page — never inside the scorekeeper, and never anywhere they could be tapped by accident while you are playing. There is nothing to buy, no premium tier and no feature held back.

About the game itself

Farkle is a traditional dice game in the public domain, played for generations under many names: Greed, Zilch, Ten Thousand, Hot Dice, Squelch and others. This site is an independent scorekeeper and reference for that traditional game, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any commercial edition or trademark holder.

Corrections welcome

If a scoring rule here is wrong, a probability does not match your own calculation, or your family plays a variant that is not covered, please get in touch. Rule disputes are the heart of this game and we would rather be corrected than confidently wrong.
